Meals on Wheels Adds New Directors to Board

Lynchburg, Va. June 2018- Meals on Wheels of Greater Lynchburg has welcomed four new board members at their annual board meeting in June.

Joining the board are: Dorothy Niles, Kristin O’Neil, Dr. David Wodicka, and Dr. Daryl Yoder. The organization is looking forward to the extensive volunteering, medical and community engagement skill sets and professional experience these individuals will bring.

While the organization is adding new board members, it will also have to say goodbye to four board members. Those retiring include Treena Koroneos and Trish Hampton Whaley who have been with the board for three years. Also leaving the board are Darlene Etheridge and Dr. Robert Lockridge who have spent six years with the organization. We are grateful for their leadership and guidance over this recent period of organizational growth.

March for Meals 2018

Detours, Road construction, RAIN …

And lots and lots of SMILES!

One of the largest turn-outs in recent history! We all crowded in to the extra space at the pickup location for our gathering time before heading out into the blast!

Thank you to the several dozen Community Leaders who joined our ‘seasoned volunteers’ yesterday, braving the elements and … other forces(!) … to deliver meals on schedule to our neighbors in need!

This is one of our favorite days of the year – when we get to share what we do every day with others, so they can enjoy it, too!
