Events and Activities

We hold events throughout the year to help the community learn more about our mission, work with other organizations to end hunger, and raise funds that allow us to serve more of the homebound in need in our community.

2017 Subaru Share the Love Event

Nationally, Subaru has selected Meals on Wheels America as one of four non-profits to benefit from the Share the Love proceeds for the 10th year of this extremely generous partnership.

Locally, Meals on Wheels of Greater Lynchburg is partnering with Terry Subaru to Share the Love and raise awareness of the needs of our homebound community. Go to the Share the Love page to read more!

Join us on July 29th as the Lynchburg Hillcats sponsor Meals on Wheels night at the Hillcats! It is sure to be a Saturday night filled with fun, family, food and fireworks!

Notecard Sales

Each year, area artists support Meals on Wheels with their donations of artwork for our notecards. Our most recent collections include Lynchburg Area, Regional and Travel.

Souper Bowl of Caring

Every year, area churches organize a special collection or sponsor activities on Super Bowl Sunday to help feed the hungry and those in need in our community. It is amazing how even one dollar can make a difference. If we all give a little, we change a lot.

March For Meals

Our annual March for Meals is part of a national movement led by the Meals on Wheels America to bring awareness to the community about senior hunger and isolation. It includes Big Wheels day, when leaders and well-known people from the community come together to deliver meals.

 Day of Caring

Meals on Wheels and the United Way of Central Virginia continue to partner on Day of Caring. For more information, or to register, contact the United Way.

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

Meals on Wheels would be lost without our incredible volunteers. They are our eyes, ears, hands and feet as we work to meet the needs of the homebound in our community.

In October, we celebrate the accomplishments of this amazing group of people. Join us for an evening of food, entertainment and fellowship.
